"All My Children" star Cameron Mathison, who is also known from his turn on "Dancing With the Stars" among other moonlighting gigs, transitions from Daytime Emmy nominee (he was up for Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2005) to the show's host (an honor he'll share with Sherri Shepherd of "The View").
We spoke to Mathison before the ceremony, which airs June 20 on ABC -- and Shepherd got in on the action, too.

What can viewers expect from you as host of the Daytime Emmys?
"I am going to be doing my paso doble in a leopard print thong. No, truthfully, I'm really, really excited about this because I don't know what exactly to expect. I know the list of presenters, everyone from Jimmy Kimmel to Barbara Walters to Susan Lucci to Tyra Banks, so there are going to be really cool people as part of the production."
"And I know that Sherri and I really get along well. We have a similar sense of humor and a similar energy. And I know the evening is going to be Golden Globes style, with the guests seated around tables, and I think we're going to be very interactive with that, down in the trenches as we say in the biz [laughs]. It's going to be a really fun, really energetic show."
One of the things about the Golden Globes that traditionally makes the show lively is that the audience can drink. Might you be partaking during the broadcast?
"In drinking? You know, probably between the beginning of the day and the end of the day, the odds are yes. Although I have to fly out very early Saturday morning to shoot something in Calgary, so I may just have to settle for watching everyone else enjoy their drinks."
Anything can happen on live TV. What are your worst fears about what could go wrong?
"Tripping. Falling off the stage. Mispronouncing names. Saying something totally and completely wrong. There are a lot of fears! Having my clothes fall off and standing there in my underwear...." ["I would like that!" pipes in Shepherd. "If his clothes fell off and he was standing there in his drawers, I would just lose it!"]
It might help the ratings if you had a wardrobe malfunction!
"I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: I'm going to wear a break-away tux. There are some surprises coming -- that's all I'm gonna say!"
